Mary and Jerry finish the shetland Round Britain & Ireland Race
Mary and Jerry crossed the Plymouth finishing line
at 1007 on Monday. For each of them this was the 6th completed Round Britain
& Ireland Race. Although they were among the oldest competitors and QII was
one of the smaller and older boats they were in the first clutch of irc boats to
finish and achieved 4th in class, both on the water and on irc handicap. This
race is one of the toughest in the doublehanded calendar and Mary, who finished
her cancer treatment four years ago, is delighted to have demonstrated once
again that there can be life after cancer and very full life too. More news
of the Race will follow shortly....
